GREENWAY HOUSING COOPERATIVE
A 26-unit cooperative in Saanich, BC - close to schools, parks, shopping and transit, where neighbours work together and look out for one another.
Everyone is welcome here
Greenway is a safe and inclusive community. We welcome applications from people of every background, identity, ability, age, family type, faith and culture. We're committed to treating every member and applicant with dignity and respect, and to keeping Greenway a place where everyone can feel at home.
Everyone who is a member of Greenway is, in effect, a part-owner. Each of us shares responsibility — to ourselves and to our neighbours — for helping the co-op run well day to day.
Our members are a diverse mix of single people, couples, families and retirees. Our homes include two, three and four bedroom units in townhouse and apartment styles. Some homes — including our one-bedroom and several smaller ground-level three-bedroom townhouses — have their own backyards.
Land Acknowledgment
Greenway Housing Cooperative is located in Saanich, on the traditional and unceded territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Esquimalt) peoples and the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, represented by the Tsartlip, Pauquachin, Tsawout, Tseycum, and Malahat Nations.
These Nations have stewarded these lands and waters since time immemorial, and their relationship with this place continues today. As a community built on cooperation and care, we recognize our responsibility to learn, to listen, and to support the ongoing work of reconciliation.
A limited number of Greenway households receive a rental subsidy through the federal Federal Community Housing Initiative, Phase 2 (FCHI-2) Rental Assistance Program, administered by our bookkeeping up to roughly six units may be subsidized at a time, depending on need; any subsidy depends on the household's gross monthly income. We can't guarantee availability.
